Contribuiți la feedbackLady serving coffees (Italian? very rude and served a drink in a tiny takeaway cup charging £3.80. When I asked for the medium size cup, she refused saying teas only… not coming back needless to say
We stopped for a cuppa and something to eat. Store is great, seating are is light and spacious, Food was tasty, tea was good and service was great. Cant complain!
A pleasant place for a coffee and a sweet treat. The prices are quite friendly and there are spaces outside by the pedestrian street.
Been a regular at Greensmiths for years and the quality of the produce is always very high fresh veg, fresh bread, cheeses, store cupboard stock. Love the fruit selection too. Increasingly, am noticing that they're better value too, which given they've always been at the upper end of pricing, is saying something. For example, Gail's will sell you a box of eggs for £4 ! and the same ones are sold for £2.60 in GS; Saturday morning pastries don't cost a tenner, as they do at Gail's. Prices at the new veg place up the road by the Co op are extortionate, and a cupcake from Balance will set you back £4.50 each. Feels like GS is the last proper shop who realise what it will take to keep a loyal customer base during high inflation: quality with good value.
I popped into green smiths deli at 12:10 with my son today for a coffee whilst my daughter attended a ballet lesson nearby. I ordered a coffee for myself and a Diet Coke for my son, after 10 minutes I was approached by a member of staff who told me I had to leave the premises when the White family on a nearby table were served their brunch. I checked with my son that this is what was said by the waitress as no other table was approached in the same manner. I am Japanese and have lived locally for 15 years. Naturally I was shocked to be singled out and asked to leave as I had paid extra to drink my coffee inside and the Greensmiths deli was only half full at this time. WAS IT BECAUSE I WAS THE ONLY ASIAN IN THE GREENSMITHS AT THE TIME? I can only think so because none of the white guests were approached and asked to leave. Embraced by this situation that was happening in front of my son, I walked downstairs and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was the same service staff member who had asked only my son and I to leave!! I asked the manager for an explanation and they accepted they were wrong and I had been Racially profiled, I was offered a free coffee. I was still in a state of shock that this had happened and refused and left with my son. GREENSMITHS REALLY? This behaviour was totally unacceptable and racist. You embarrassed my son (who has grown up in the area) and I pray he is not traumatised from this incident.
