Meadow View - Cavan

I went to Meadow View for Sunday lunch. There were several options available, and I chose the beef without vegetables. I received two small slices of roast beef, one roast potato, and approximately 6 chips in a silver basket. I was charged €17, which I found to be surprisingly expensive. I left the restaurant still feeling hungry, as the portion was small and overpriced. The staff were polite and the service was prompt, but the food did not justify the high price.

I was recommended this restaurant and I'm glad I went. The home cooked meals were of good quality and the portions were huge. The staff was attentive and polite. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it.

We stopped this evening on way from Dublin. The restaurant was very busy.service was very fast and good. Food was great. T /bone steak is best in Cavan.

So after constantly hearing about the meadow view, we decided to give it a shot on 29/04/2023. Here is our own personal opinions: Food quality 1/5 The food itself was poor to say the least. I got a steak burger which had no taste for a medium rare steak. My partner got Turkey and ham this was cold, reheated food which was not work €17 or whatever it cost. The chips were clearly cooked with either dodgy potatoes or dirty oil. They were hard, clearly re cooked and tasted disgusting. Venue 3/5 The venue is a nice place to go with some friends for a drink I will admit, nice little outdoor area. Only downside is when there is a function going on, kids run around and it’s not as peaceful as you’d like. Which isn’t the worst thing in the world. Price 3/5 €44 in total the bill came to. €21 for the steak burger, €17 for the Turkey ham and a few euro on top for some drinks. Majority of food was left on plates after we dusted. Staff 4/5 The staff were attentive, plenty of people walking around if you needed to ask for something and they seemed friendly enough so can’t fault that. With that all being said, I’ve made better food after 2 nights on the sesh in someone’s kitchen… wasn’t worth the visits and if your thinking off going here, expect better food from McDonald’s down the road

Came in for food with a few friends and immediately the atmosphere of the staff seemed off. We where sat at a corner table and waited atleast 15 mins before we where given a menu with very few options on it. I asked for a chicken panini and when the food came i was greeted with stale bread and dry chicken. When we tried to order drinks we had asked for a jug of water and when we tried to ask for other minerals the server had already walked away. Overpriced. Poor service. Poor food
