Exquisite typical food, good attention, live music, located right in the center, opposite Cafayate Square. Totally recommended!!!!

La Estancia restaurant is located on the main square of Cafayate. The city is quiet. La Estancia offers simple Argentine cuisine. Service is sufficiently friendly. Average food, not expect fine food. The kitchen works on fast serving. We came to dinner on the last day of 2022 and had a reservation for the terrace. The restaurant was busy, a good sign. We went for a starter, main lomo with oven frits accompanied with white Torrentos 2022 grown to 5800ft, and a dessert. Both appetizers were delicious, the grilled entrecôte was OK but nothing special, the oven potatoes were not tasty and the wine was average. The dessert of the fig compote was beautiful. If you have an OK restaurant with no more than OK food, La Estancia is the place for you.

This was the only place for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and they had a good selection of dishes, so we gave it a round. The service was very slow and quite unfriendly, and the food was best on average. Nice place on the place and cute decor, but would try elsewhere if you want good food.
