Black Bear Cafe - Townsend

Our favorite spot! They serve the best white fish sandwich around and have enormous burgers. The place is always clean, and the prices are fair. I would give it a full 5 stars if they were open year-round and had a bit more seating with some additional booths or tables.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on our way to Tuckaleechee Caverns, and I'm so glad we did! The service was excellent, and our waitress, Annette, was both friendly and attentive, as was the entire staff. The food was delicious! I opted for the daily special, which was fried fish, and my wife chose the grilled chicken sandwich. Both dishes were fantastic! We couldn’t resist trying some of their homemade desserts, either. I had the apple walnut pie, while my wife enjoyed the lemon chess pie. Wow! Both were absolutely delicious! They’re definitely worth a visit on their own. I’ve heard they might close during the winter months due to slower business, so it's a good idea to check their hours before heading over. Other than that, I highly recommend giving them a try!
