The Anchor - South Hams

Had a nice day break in the anchor. tom and his team made us and our dog very welcome. clean, comfortable rooms and good food. would definitely stay back if in the opposite.

Eat well. personal nice. the rooms are a bit tired of places with bad walls are paper thin. wifi terrible and not great for phone reception area. don't bet fantastic.

Although we live around miles from ugborough, this was our first visit to the anchor. we had three meals and they were all amazing. nice eating served nice and hot. tom could not do more to make our visit a pleasant one, like the one. other dame behind the bar. They have a big restaurant, but we ate in the bar as my daughter had her dog. beautiful log burner in front of a very comfortable sofa. there were a few locals in the bar that were all very friendly and there is a large parking space on the back of the pub. we will definitely visit again.

The anchor inn is located in a beautiful village and is located directly at the main square. they don't have a parking space in front of location, but we found a place. no problem at the beginning of December, but in summer it could be more a problem. we had. in the evening, what was amazing. I recommend the baked camembert, it was probably the best I ever had. everything was served on hackboards, which didn't matter to me, but the waitress said she hated to use them. she is quite strange to mention that but the personal could not be fault-free. even if the waitress was not impressed by the Carol singers. we were in a small room, but for the price we were pleasantly surprised. it felt modern with a beautiful window seat on which they can turn on. the bathroom was nice, but the floor is decorated with many stones, so it is like to foot on a pebble beach. it's sweet, but a little annoying. the breakfast could not be fault-free. winged eggs, cooked for perfection. would be nice if they had juice on the buffet. for us but unfortunately we had a deal breaker, which means that we probably do not stay again the bedrooms have really thin walls. we didn't hear someone was intimate, but the guests in the room next door had dogs who decided to be crazy. the owners of the dogs then decided to communicate by screaming, so it was then impossible to sleep again. our room was also at the top of the stairs, so everyone who came up had to come by and it was loud. it is a real shame, because if we sleep a good night, it would have been perfect.

Fantastic stay here for nights. Tom and his staff are superb. Bedroom spotless Great breakfast and nothing to much trouble. Will definitely return. Must not forget Export Steve and his wife. Great company
