Contribuiți la feedbackLovely place with superb vegan cream tea. The scones were amazing. Also, the location is magical and the building looks awesome. Updated from previous review on 2023-01-30
So good to see places offering vegan cream teas. Unfortunately the scones were slightly stale and dry which is why I've given 2 stars.
I would truly give this 5 stars if possible. I was passing through Plymouth and came here solo. It’s a beautiful old building with an interior that they’ve really nicely done up. It’s small, as is the nature of old buildings and it gives it a really cosy feeling. I adore being able eat foods with a nostalgic factor to them and I feel for any Brit, a scone with cream and jam by the seaside is just that. The vegan version comes with a coconut cream and was spot on. They were playing 50s music, the likes of Bobby Darin and it’s just a really great place. The staff were very involved and so nice to talk to, they’ve done an amazing job so please do go if you get the chance!
You feel like you're stepping back in time as you enter this beautiful, period building. With vintage music, quaint tea rooms and a lovely outdoor garden area, eating here is a treat from start to finish. I brought my wife here for her birthday after discovering a couple of vegan options on the menu. We had two vegan afternoon teas, which were extremely well priced at £12.95pp. This included a trio of cakes mini strawberry cheesecake, fruity flapjack bombs and coconut and lime cake vegan cheese and mayo finger sandwiches and scones with coconut clotted cream and jam. We both had a pot of tea each served with soy milk. There are certain things I thought I would have to kiss goodbye to turning vegan and cream teas were one of them. This was such a lovely treat and they've really done an excellent job. I hope in future they consider extending their sandwich options with such great vegan substitutes for ham, chicken etc available. They also offer a vegan cream tea for £6.95 pp and could possibly make their vegetarian breakfast vegan friendly if you called to discuss but I've not tried this.
