Bear Trap Inn - Shingleton

We were so satisfied with all menu options, huge portions and the service was fantastic! what a great stop along our journey through the pictured rocks!

Out of TN and on a tour of the Upper Peninsula, left Grand Marias hunting a breakfast as nothing available in this village. Forty or so miles west we came upon Bear Trap Inn which is a good sized cafe, surrounded by almost nothing. Very comfortable and friendly place. Ordered our usual OJ, eggs OM , bacon, link sausage, pancakes, toast, potatoes. WOW, what a meal. Not only delicious but we could taste the quality of the food. In these times of rising prices and limited product, this meal was out of the past. No corners cut, just good food. I would drive 50 miles out of the way to dine here again. Bear Trap Inn is A ok

Must be very seasonally driven because the food was bad, the drinks were poor, and the serice was worse. Burgers were small, and 16 18 for the bare minimum of what you would expect at other places. I ordered 3 beers and barely got one, 3 4 of each beer was head beer foam . I thought it was a joke at first. 90 minute wait with 5 10 other people in the place. Our order was wrong and when we pointed that out we were told we were all wrong and just left the wrong order on our table. It's draw is its out in the rural area and hikers, snow machine, and local folks stop there apparantly. Find another place if you can.

We stopped for breakfast on the motorcycles today. Breakfast is delicious, and I wish I could give more stars. The staff is great and we will back for sure! Next thing I'm going to get from there are some PAYSTIES... Thanks Dawn! You should implement your son's idea soon.

First off, the food was absolutely great.We ordered a variety of things: Perch Basket, Quesadilla, and their Trap Burger half beef half bacon patty with egg .It is sorta country in the atmosphere and in the regular customers, not fine dining by any means but nice chill vibes.They have a bar and sell many kinds of drinks, including locally brewed beers, wines, and liquors.Billiards table in the back as well.We had a server that was 3 days new at the time. He did well for being so new and didn't lessen our experience one bit.It was a nice and popular place, and again the food was quite good.
