Raconteur - Seattle

Raconteur is a decent restaurant with generous portions, but the front-of-house service and hosting leave much to be desired. Their management of reservations and seating groups is quite unacceptable. Specifically, they significantly overstated their capacity on Valentine's Day, rendering our OpenTable reservation meaningless.

Raconteur is a great spot for coffee and the cozy bookstore it houses, but as a restaurant, it's lacking. The food was disappointing. The chicken wings tasted boiled, and the chicken strips were overcooked and not flavorful. The veggie burger also left a lot to be desired. The service was inattentive, and the meal was overpriced. It was such a poor experience that I didn't feel inclined to leave a tip; I honestly wished I could get a refund for my meals. It felt like a waste of both time and money.

The servers were quite young and seemed inexperienced; they were not very attentive and took a while to respond.

Perfect place to visit with my son. can not wait for my next trip to seattle and loves the bookstore.

Great neighborhood dining. Good food at a fair price. Especially nice to walk into the Book Store after dining. Excellent selection of books, especially poetry and children’s selections.
