On one occasion, I began my poke adventure with a satisfying base of brown rice, which not only provided nourishment but also a subtle nutty flavor. I chose a combination of two scoops of Ahi Tuna and a scoop of the flavorful Shrimp Ceviche, striking a wonderful balance between the familiar and the exciting. For mix-ins, I added Furikaki and Edamame, bringing a delightful crunch and freshness to each bite. The OG Veggies—sweet onions and jalapeños marinated in a mix of shoyu, sesame oil, olive oil, and rice vinegar—offered a deep, rich flavor that was both zesty and comforting. The Wicked Wahine sauce, a perfect blend of sweetness and spice, drizzled my bowl with its bold ingredients of coconut palm sugar, lime juice, sambal olek chili garlic paste, and shoyu. I topped it all off with tangy pickled ginger, sweet pineapple, and a crunchy mix of crispy garlic, crispy onions, sesame seeds, and toasted coconut lightly spiced with Togarashi, along with wonton strips. To finish, I chose a duo of sauces: the spicy yet sweet Ono Ono and the savory Togarashi, culminating in a flavorful explosion. My husband Jason opted for a classic white rice base, serving as a blank canvas for his flavors. He selected a delightful mix of Tuna and Salmon, with an extra scoop of Tuna on top. Furikaki was his mix-in of choice, adding a traditional Japanese touch. The Ponzu sauce, a gluten-free soy sauce combined with fresh citrus, added a vibrant tang to his bowl. His toppings included a fresh Seaweed Salad, briny Masago, and punchy Togarashi, finished with crunchy sesame seeds and tempura crisps. This combination created a wonderful balance of textures and flavors, blending the richness of the seafood with zesty, crunchy elements. We also explored the variety of tea, lemonade, and soda options available. The Cola Lite, Root Beer, and especially the Cucumber Soda offered a refreshing complement to our rich meal. Unlike typical cola, the Cucumber Soda had a spiced flavor that added a unique twist I really enjoyed. The Sweet Tea stood out with its authentic tea taste, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, while the lemonades were light and refreshing—neither overly sweet, which was perfect for cooling our palates from the robust flavors in our bowls. As we were finishing our meal, we were pleasantly surprised with a sample of the Dole Whip swirl. Although my husband was quite full, I couldn't resist this sweet treat, reminiscent of the beloved Nokomis Groves orange ice cream. Sharing this bit of nostalgia with the owner, we expressed our mutual sadness over its loss. While nothing can truly replace the original, it was wonderful to enjoy the Dole Whip option.
Not sure how this place has a 4.7The rice wasn’t fully cooked. I got things in my bowls I didn’t order, and missing things I did. Overall it was the worst poke bowl I’ve had, very
