I’m on vacation with my sister, and we were looking for an exceptional French dining experience. Antoine’s Restaurant truly exceeded our expectations!
This is our third visit, and we absolutely love it! The food is fantastic, from the appetizers to the desserts. This place is a favorite of ours!
Don't let the parking lot view fool you; this casual eatery offers fantastic food. The maître d' is the owner, and his wife is the chef. On Wednesday nights, they feature an all-you-can-eat mussels special, available in five different preparations, allowing you to mix and match to your heart's content! For an appetizer, the cauliflower soup with Stilton is a decadent choice. Enjoy your meal; we've been here at least six times, and the quality is consistently excellent. It's one of the best restaurants in Sarasota.
Our meal at Antoine’s yesterday evening was beyond exquisite. We are long time fans of this hidden gem which is finally getting widespread recognition as an exceptional restaurant. We started our meal with a complimentary amuse bouche of cauliflower bisque which was delightful. For starters we sampled the carrot ginger bisque, the asparagus bisque, escargot, and the seared octopus and all were outstanding. Antoine’s doesn’t skimp on the bread either. Both the rolls served with our starters, and the baguette with our mains were hot and obviously house made. Each of our main courses was outstanding. My husband throughly enjoyed Angela’s Mussels and our son went into raptures over the perfectly seared scallops served on a bed of risotto with a candied tangerine beurre blanc sauce. Our son’s fiancé raved about the duck, and I had that evening’s special, which was a Chilean sea bass layered with smoked salmon in a puff pastry crust. Both the duck and the special were accompanied by perfectly cooked asparagus and broccoli. It’s hard to choose who ordered the best dessert, because everything on the desert menu is exceptional. My husband had the molten chocolate lava cake, our kids shared a crème brûlée, profiterole with salted caramel ice cream with Belgian chocolate drizzle, and blood orange sorbet. I opted for the blood orange sorbet, and thoroughly enjoyed every delicious refreshing bite. Olivier is the consummate host, and Angela is a superb chef. Along with their well trained staff, they make Antoine’s hum. The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night, so do make reservations well in advance if you want to experience the very best restaurant in Sarasota.
