El Maestro - San Jose

Food is ok but not great. Burrito was mostly rice. Mole sauce was fair. Flautas were decent. Service was also fair friendly, but kids food came out last, we had to stop servers to get drink refills, etc. It is not bad, but at this price point I would expect better.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. My first time was before the pandemic, and I returned today. On both occasions, I ordered menudo and a michelada, and both times they were delicious.

The jalapeño margaritas are outstanding, and the food is incredible. They’ve really done a great job with the outdoor seating and takeout orders.

This is a nice place with solid Mexican cuisine, though it's not a taqueria. There's a bar and TVs that usually show games, creating a lively atmosphere. The combo plates are definitely worth trying. I recommend skipping the guacamole, but the salsa is decent. The service is very friendly.
