Teriyaki chicken flavor wasn't there. Was really just plain chicken and rice. Dumplings were ok nothing special. Roll was alright. Salad in bento box had no dressing it was like dry coleslaw
Food is great, nice portions, and prepared quickly. Their bento box was a great value with nice variety.
Sarku Japan at Westfield Oakridge Mall pleasantly surprised me despite my initial reservations about mall restaurants. The outdoor seating area is a nice touch, providing a comfortable dining space. Upon entering, we were promptly shown to our seats, but unfortunately, the service got off to a slow start, taking over 15 minutes to bring us water, even though there was only one more table they were serving. Improved service would be a welcome enhancement. Now, let's talk about the food. The noodles were the highlight of our visit, boasting exceptional flavors that exceeded our expectations. We sampled two different noodle dishes and a bun, all of which were super tasty and left us craving more. The restaurant's interior was pleasant, and the restroom was clean, which added to the overall positive experience.Despite the service hiccup, I'd be inclined to return to Sarku Japan for the delicious food alone. It's a testament to the quality of their dishes that I'd be willing to overlook a bit of a service lapse for another chance to savor their wonderful cuisine.Vegetarian options: Over three vegetarian/vegan noodle options.
This is probably the best mall food court restaurant you will find in Oakridge Mall. The chicken and shrimp are always cooked perfectly. There are hits and misses with the veggies. Most of the time they are warm and basically raw. Today they were just cold and undercooked. I want to emphasize I have been here many times and this is the first time the vegetables have been so undercooked that they taste like you need a veggie dip to put on them. You really need to pay attention when your food is on the staging area. Sometimes they place scoops of food and you have no idea if you should take your plate. It's just a little inconsistent sometimes. It would help if they communicated a little more during the order or when they are done. Overall for mall food it's not bad. It's probably the healthiest option out there aside from just getting salad.
