Kung Po House Chinese Cuisine - Renfrew

I just discovered my very favourite Chinese Restaurant has a FACEpage! Growing up in Toronto, I developed a well rounded palate for different cultures of foods besides meat and potatoes, which I still love by the by. Having moved, and lived around the south, as well as west, central and eastern parts of Ontario, I have experimented and located the perfect places for fish and chips, including Newfoundland fish and chips, authentic Italian and Oriental cuisine to name but a few. Who knew in a community the size of Renfrew, Ontario was to be found such a cozy hidden gem if you're looking for an oriental gastronomic delight. On a small street, just off the main drag is Kung Po House Chinese Cuisine. They do serve up Canadianized dishes for those who are not overly adventurous, BUT if you're looking to dabble outside your comfort zone this is definitely the place! Any, and all, of their hot/spicy dishes can be ordered on a spicy level of 1 10. My personal favourite is Singapore Noodle level 10! Until quite recently, I'd not tried any of the egg foo yong offerings, that has been rectified, with mushroom egg foo yong. Never, anywhere I've lived, have I experienced a better egg foo young! I do not claim to be a connoisseur, that title belonged to my dear, departed Mom, and she would have loved Kung Po House! Co proprietor, Moon is a delight with a smile as charismatic as that of actor Chow Yun fat. Moon works alongside her co proprietor husband Sonny, love of her life, and father of their 2 two young children. I give Kung Po House two thumbs up on the taste bud scale. Linda S. Michaud

Small family restaurant, love the food. Will always be going back for more.

While passing through we thought we stop for some Chinese food. The food was horrible. It made us all sick.
