Al Pacino's was once a beloved local restaurant serving pizza, burgers, and kebabs. I have been a resident of Colne my whole life and remember when it first opened some twenty years ago. The service and food used to be consistently good, even on busy nights. However, it seems that the ownership may have changed silently, now trying to coast on the reputation built by the previous owners. Unfortunately, my recent takeaway experience was extremely disappointing. The garlic naan bread was as hard as a brick, and the free garlic pizza was an unusual yellowish-green color that I had never seen before. I ordered a Mexican pizza with extra toppings, but only received the additional toppings - the default toppings were missing. To make matters worse, the food was tasteless and inedible. I had family over, and I was truly embarrassed by the quality of the meal. It felt like I had been scammed out of my hard-earned money in exchange for food that was likely not safe to eat. I sincerely hope that Al Pacino's goes out of business because my experience was that bad. I will never be ordering from them again. It is a sad downfall for what used to be a great local eatery. Additionally, the delivery driver lingered, clearly expecting a tip, suggesting that the entire staff may be looking to take advantage of customers. Fortunately, I did not give in to this pressure.
I visited this restaurant for the first time on July 25th. It will also be my last time here. I ordered a tomato and cheese pizza that was overly greasy and the dough was soggy. I will not be returning, as I would rather go home and have toast instead of paying for the disappointing meal I received.
Ordered my usual salami and jalapeños past experience from this establishment gave me faith that this tasty treat would live up to expectation. A speedy oven cook meant a swift collection was made, however on return home I was disappointed to find a cheesy garlic bread. (Taste test confirmed). Contacted al Pacino’s who admitted fault and asked to return said garlic bread for exchange. By this time my other half had also taste tested which confirmed garlic bread. (not that this mattered given health, hygiene and the global corona virus pandemic). On return, the garlic was inspected. Given the look, I thought I’d just pissed on his chips, I think they may have been planning to reserve it, or eat it themselves? Could be wrong. Anyway, got the right pizza.. it was delicious as usual. After picking it up twice I didn’t expect to be asked for 80p for garlic Mayo. Can’t deny.. I’ll be back, just no special Mayo for me. Quality of pizza makes up for the mess around Pizza also tastes good in microwave next day Over and out
Thought the donner seemed dodgy. Well it definitely was! Suffering the day after! This place has seriously gone down hill
