Contribuiți la feedbackI took my grandchildren in to have a look around the exhibitions. We were told that there was a room where the children could go and paint an L.S.Lowry collage. My grandchildren loved it. We then went into the children's library. There's several areas of seating and even a coat rack to hang your coats and bags. They had a little treasure hunt there and again, really enjoyed looking around for the pictures. All the staff in every area was really friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back. We'd definitely recommend going either as a family or even for some quiet time, looking around alone. A very pleasant place to be.
What better place to be on a miserable day. The museum offers more than just the history to the town called Oldham.
It's a very interesting building. It is clean, airy, and modern. The gallery is on the upper floor, and once found is easy to navigate. Once found! The art on display is relevant and well selected. Visitors can expect to see something of interest to them personally. When I visited, I was frustrated by two things. Poor signage, and the cafe seemed to be closed to the public (the only notice was a hand written note on the door). I would not want to put anyone off visiting Gallery Oldham, but hand-on-heart I cannot recommend it either.
Great activities for children. Very helpful and enthusiastic staff.
I didn't have time to explore all of it but what I did see was impressive. Its a great space handily in the centre of Olham and so easy to get to by Metrolink.
