Oconomowoc Farmers Market

This was my first time in a few years coming to the winter market, and even though its end of March, I was looking for produce, hoping for greenhouse farmers.

This farmer's market is easily accessible and offers plenty of parking. It boasts a wide variety of vendors, making it a great source of fresh, local, and healthy food for the community. You'll find everything from handmade soaps and metal sculptures to fresh cut flowers and meats. The selection of vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and flowers is impressive and reasonably priced. All the vendors are courteous, friendly, and eager to answer any questions you may have. Strolling through the market was a pleasure, as we enjoyed exploring the diverse offerings of produce, jams, spices, and jellies. Even if you don't buy anything, the experience is still delightful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with plenty of local honey, pastries, and baked goods available, including gluten-free and vegan options. It's a fantastic way to spend a Saturday in a relaxed setting. The market is open on Saturdays from 8 AM to 12 PM, operating from May 1 to October. For the past 40 years, the Oconomowoc Farmers' Market has been a wonderful place to support local farmers and foster community connections.

I really enjoyed this farmers market! It's a bit smaller, but there are still some great food options available. I appreciate that no dogs are allowed, which is a plus for me. The only downside is that there are almost no trash cans.

During my last visit, I noticed that about half of the people there were wearing masks, which was a bit disconcerting. The vendors offered a nice variety, including cheese, fruit, flowers, vegetables, and meat. I even had my knives sharpened! However, I feel that two things are lacking: first, some music would really enhance the atmosphere, and second, coffee and donuts would be a wonderful addition. I love strolling around, browsing the stalls with a good cup of coffee in hand!

I absolutely love this market! There's a great variety of fresh produce and a unique mix of vendors. We picked up some fantastic specialty cheese that we really enjoyed. I also appreciate the no-dogs policy; some other farmers markets are overwhelmed with dogs, which can really take away from the experience (are you paying attention, Brookfield?). Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit!
