Golosi Gelato Cafe - Oconomowoc

I rarely write online reviews, but my initial experience at this restaurant was disappointing enough for me to take the time to share. My family and I visited this evening for the first time, and when asked if we had been there before, we replied no. When my husband requested a sample of one flavor, it was given to him. However, when my young daughter asked for a sample of the same flavor, the staff member replied, "well, we can’t give too many samples," essentially denying a child a sample and turning away potential customers. The staff member appeared more focused on chatting with a coworker or friend than on serving customers. As individuals who work in the food service and hospitality industry, we were truly shocked by this experience. We left without making a purchase and are unlikely to return.

I have dietary restrictions that limit my gelato intake, but I was disappointed that I had to order a mini cone as if I were a child or over 60. Despite this, I chose the Cherry Cheesecake flavor and it was incredible - the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the employee who served me did not match the quality of the gelato. The store front and inside were very clean and comfortable, but the customer service I received was below my expectations. The cashier, a quirky slender woman with curly hair and glasses, processed my payment before I had finished making my selection from the menu. She didn't pay attention to me and seemed more focused on other tasks. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I may not return in the near future.

The gelato and Italian hot chocolate at this restaurant are truly delicious. There are a variety of flavors to choose from, and the service is excellent. It feels like a little piece of Italy right here in Oconomowoc.

I liked this place quite a bit. But then they stopped offering my favorite flavor. It was the only flavor I looked forward to. It's not a rare flavor. I've seen it at other gelato shops. I went there three times over the course of two weeks and it wasn't available any of those three times. So I have stopped going there.

Exquisite vibe. The gelato is always very good, been going here for at least 10 years now and it’s always been a treat to go in.
