Codex - Norfolk

My review cannot do enough justice for this place. Went with a group of friends and ordered almost everything, sharing with each other. Everything was amazing! My favorites and must try were the pimento cheese spread, and brussel sprouts for appetizers. For main dishes, the ribeye was cooked perfectly and just melted in your mouth. The burger is easily in the top 5 best burgers I've ever had. The chicken was moist and oh so good! Go eat here, you will not be disappointed!!

The best dining experience I have ever had. We frequent many restaurants, but the service here was outstanding. Our server made excellent recommendations and asked all the right questions to ensure we found the perfect dish. We began with the Brussels sprout appetizer, which was so delicious that we ordered a second one. Do not underestimate the Brussels sprouts. I tried the downtown revival cocktail, which was slightly sweet and sour, and incredibly refreshing. My husband enjoyed the old fashioned cocktail and raved about it. He also ordered the crab cakes, which were exceptional.

I have found a new favorite spot for a special evening out. The atmosphere is a luxurious blend of industrial chic with a hipster edge, set in a cozy dining space. The cuisine is unique and creative. The service was top-notch in all aspects. I will definitely return in the future.

Ordered quite a few things off the menu. The fresh oysters were amazing and the anchovies and ham. The carrots and the cauliflower were really good. However the main courses left a lot to be desired. The a steak was cold and the duck was sub-par. However the sticky toffee was amazing.

My husband found this place from inspecting their kitchen hood. He said they had the cleanest hood and kitchen he has seen in the Hampton Roads and wanted to try it out. I made reservations on the Resy app. Upon first impression the place is very modern, clean, cute, small and intimate. We were sat down instantly upon arrival. Our waitress was Stephanie. She was so sweet and personable. She recommended a really delicious drink called the Jubilee. First we ordered oysters.
