Contribuiți la feedbackBibo is a hidden gem in a hidden gem town of Nelson! I was fortunate enough to visit Nelson last week and fell in love with my first time seeing Canada.
Lovely foodThat being said, my girlfriend's rabbit pappardelle was FULL of bones, I tried a bite and crunched some bones.
We had a really great meal. Fresh ingredients and a really nice staff made for a top notch experience! I can't wait to go back
Tucked away this really is a gem to discover! I can honestly say this was the best meal we've had in the last 4 weeks. The Berkshire porkchop with crispy panisse, fennel and olive stew, grilled aspargus was 'heavenly'!The girl in the long grey coat (owner, maître, waitress?) was a delight: extremely friendly, welcoming, informative, suggested the perfect pinot noir to go with the pork: TOP!Being restaurateurs ourselves for over 20 years we only have 1 advise for the guy (owner, maître, waiter?): you are right that regular customers must be pampered BUT one must breed regulars out of firstcomers. Hearing you say: " when i came in they had already set those ladies at your table" gives a very uncomfortable feeling, chatting with your back to the entrance, not noticing people coming in: not done.Never let appearances lead your judgement: one can look simple but hide a world of experience! This said, the chef did a great job and the establishment itself is very inviting so we definitely will recommend this!
Went out with some girlfriends last night and as the weather was nice, we were looking for a patio. Landed at Bibo's and it was so much quieter than the rest of town and thus felt like a little bit of paradise. Enjoyed some of their fun cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and then a great dinner that including their skirt steak, catch of the day, and charcuterie & cheese board. Everything was fantastic, including the staff! Meals are not large but I don't want them big, so that I can enjoy an appie or dessert with my meal.
