Super rustic, charming interior, and the associates were so friendly. Everything on my plate was picked from the guy at the counter whose name I cannot remember! But he was on point! I ended up with the Tuck Special with Mac and cheese and collard greens. That sandwich was killer! Everyone needs to try it at least once! Make sure to give this place a try if you?re in the Nashville Vanderbilt area!
Food: Green beans- flavorful and soft. Probably one of the best sides. Potato salad- pretty good, pretty creamy Standard baked beans Pulled chicken was tender, not super seasoned but cooked well. It needed bbq Pulled pork was good and moist, but similar to chicken. Banana pudding was flavorful and sweet. They do run out of stuff early. : Overall: patio was cute with lights and big area. Food came really quick! It was warm. I would recommend this place!
I make it a mission to visit BBQ joints/restaurants wherever I travel for several reason: First, to see if the craftsmanship of smoking BBQ is properly being shared with the masses; and second, to research if there is anything new in the BBQ world to be learned. Several people had recommended other BBQ places in Nashville but when I drove by Edley?s while enroute to another event, the restaurant seemed to beckon me to return and I did, later that same day. I?ll get right to the facts: I?m a pitmaster, I compete on the BBQ circuit, I judge, and I own 5 smokers, so I feel qualified to give this opinion. Edley?s brisket was on point! Hands down one of the top 3 briskets I?ve ever eaten in a restaurant setting (the other two being Joe?s in KC and Midwoods Smokehouse in Charlotte). The pulled pork was good but a tad dry, I added their Nashville Hot Pork to my order because it?s marinated 12 Hours in Habenero Mash and smoked 12 hours. Honestly, I couldn?t tell the difference between the regular pulled pork and the Nashville Hot Pork, with one exception the Hot pork was more tender and moist. Kudos to Edley?s for only having only one sauce on the table, so many restaurants have too many sauces, making a dinner event feel like a sauce roulette. Their sauce is awesome by the way. My son loved the BBQ Nachos topped with pulled pork, although the ?nachos? are really homemade potato chips which are crispier than nachos and added a nice textured crunch to each bite My son scored the nachos a 10 out of 10. We shared the Grits casserole and collard greens as sides. The richness and flavor of the grits was perfect for pairing with the brisket. The greens weren?t as sweet as greens in other BBQ restaurants but I think I liked their savoriness. Pro tip: Order a Brisket platter (comes with two sides), then add additional meats like pork or turkey in 3 oz increments. That?s plenty of food to sample whatever you like without breaking the bank.
I love BBQ and a local Uber driver recommended this well established restaurant in Nashville, Edley?s BBQ @edleysbbq. I started off with platter of the brisket, thinly sliced with red BBQ sauce and pickles. My first side was the Mac Cheese, four cheese blend with elbow Mac, baked topped with bread crumbs. My second side was the Grits Casserole, Gouda cheese, sausage, onions, red and green peppers, Tobasco sauce. Both was creamy and so good. I wanted to try the grits because I rarely ever get to eat grits, and I am glad I went to a place that prepared it very well and tasty. The corn bread was also on point. I am s huge fan if brisket and I thought it was alright. I went back in line and got an order of a full rack of ribs. OMG, this should have been the protein I choose first. It was tender and soft, it fell off the bone so easily. They had a BBQ bottle at the table so I was able to add more sauce on top! The ribs were so amazing! I definitely recommend coming here, the service is fast and friendly. I can see why they won Best BBQ in Nashville four years in a row. ???? Edley?s BBQ off of 12th Ave. South in Nashville, TN. @edleysbbq
Great food. We waited in line a little bit, but ordering was easy. I didn't feel rushed to order, which was important. You order at the bar or counter, then choose a seat. I had the bourbon tea which was great, despite not being a bourbon drinker AT ALL. we ordered the platter with 3 meats and 4 sides, and shared it among 4 of us. Plenty of food with a lot left over. Will definitely come again.
