O'neil's - Mint Hill

Quaint. Hosts are very hospitable. They offer a good choice of beers, for a good price. Food is also very good, and good price. Seats are well furnished, inside and outside. The pub also offers a pool table, some slots and shuffleboard. The biggest drawback is cash-only policy, although it is not enough to keep me from returning. Just be prepared with cash, and as I said, the prices are good.

Decided to check this place out for lunch one day after seeing a sign out front advertising open for lunch and hearing someone say this place had good chili. I 've never spent much time in bars--just isn 't my thing--so it was a small shock to see that this place is 100% a bar. THey 've got a small menu with hotdogs done a few different ways (including your own way), ham/cheeseburgers, and chips. That 's about it. Non-alcoholic drinks are served from the can into a plastic cup. Everything else is beer, booze, a few big screen TV 's, and some video poker machines. The rest of the place is atmosphere. It 's dim with some bar paraphernalia here and there; I did see a vintage cigarette machine in the corner (which I believe was stocked). I didn 't smell smoke on the inside which is a huge plus. I can 't speak for the night life here. It definitely seems like an established local watering hole (as I 've been told it is by others). THe hotdogs were good for lunch and it wasn 't pricey. $8 for two dogs, chips, and a can of Coke. There are definitely places with more offerings in town for lunch. I would guess the place picks up at night. Not a bad place, but probably not a regular lunch spot. By the way: cash only. ATM located inside.

Nice local bar with very welcoming staff. This was my first visit but it won't be my last as I learn more about local establishment.

Want a laid back tavern with great burgers and dogs, this is the place! The staff is super friendly too!
