Donoghue's - Melbourne

Have been here a few times when in the area for work, always lovely staff, excellent coffee and beautiful food. Ordered the meat plate gluten free, I'm coeliac, and unfortunately it came out with wheat flatbread. The staff rectified it quickly and without fuss, were extremely apologetic and understanding, and then offered the meal free of charge. Given they're service was impeccable, we compromised and I paid for some of it and tipped, but I'm so appreciative of their kind and understanding nature. Will be back! The meat plate was divine, moist meats and lovely flavours, and my colleague raves about the lamb wrap. Great prices to boot!

Ordered the chicken and risotto. I really enjoyed it as it had quite a lot of richness to the broth and loved the bread that went with it on the side.

I recently had my farewell lunch at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I ordered the penne Donoghue's and was impressed by the large portion size and the fresh cherry tomatoes, chunky avocado, and juicy chicken. Now I'm regretting moving away from Flagstaff because I wish I could come back for more.

I've been working in this area for years and Donoghue's Restaurant has the most amazing food and ambience. It truly stands out from any other place. It's a seriously great dining experience.

This city cafe is a winner with its delicious food and welcoming service from the attentive staff. While it may not be exceptional, it definitely gets everything right.
