Madison Natural Foods - Marshall

This is a well-stocked, family-owned natural food store that embraces a charming old-school vibe. They offer a beautiful selection of bulk items, including refills of Dr. Bronner's products. You can find individual vegan ice pops and a variety of snacks, and the refrigerator is always stocked with cold beverages. They carry a wide range of locally produced goods, such as cured meats, bread, tempeh, and locally grown fruits and vegetables. They always have Rosetta's frozen peanut butter tofu from Asheville, which is incredibly delicious. While it’s not entirely vegan, there are plenty of vegan options available. The restaurant offers a nice selection of natural resources, many of which are local, which we appreciated. We enjoyed everything we tried; however, we found the prices to be quite high. There were two staff members present, and since we were the only customers, it was disappointing that neither greeted us when we arrived, engaged in conversation while we were there, or said goodbye when we left. The lack of hospitality was somewhat off-putting, especially considering the small size of the establishment.

This small-town business offers an impressive selection and variety typically found in larger stores. The shop is very clean, showcasing beautiful, fresh local products along with many bulk items that are hard to find elsewhere. The family owners are friendly and attentive, always ready to help customers. I will definitely return when I’m in the area again!

This is a well sorted, family owner, old school natural grocery store. Beautiful bulk selection including Dr. Bronner's refills. They sell individual vegan ice pops, many snacks of the refrigerator is always in stock with cold drinks. They carry a wide range of locally produced products such as herbal remedies, bread, tempeh locally grown fruit vegetables. They have always made Rosetta's frozen peanut butter Tofu, in Asheville, and it's soooo good. It is not a vegan shop, but they have many vegan products. They now have a small kitchen where they have vegan tempeh wrap sandwiches (real good! and a few to go salads. Inside there is a community list and a Little Free Library. There is a good selection of natural foods here and many of them are local that we liked. All we enjoyed, but the things we found there were quite expensive. There were two people working, we were the only customers, but none of them said hello to us when we came in, made every conversation with us when we saw or checked out, or said farewell when we went. The lack of hospitality was a little embarrassing for how tiny it was from a business.
