Hamada - Maple Ridge

Had a chance to finally go back to this place after several years and my recent visit was good. The place was not busy at dinner time so we got seated right away. There’s only 1 person working at the front doing everything and he’s friendly. The rolls are a bit smaller but tastes good. The Chicken Karage I’m expecting is different from what we’ve got. The Tempura are good as well.

The place we originally wanted to go was closed that day which was why we went to Hamada. The food is okay but the staff wasn’t friendly at all. She was quite cold to be honest. We had come from across the border, so we ordered extra to take home. The waitress made a comment about me wanting two meals. Then when we requested a to-go box she said yes, big dinner. It had been years since I was last there but after the way we were treated, I’ll never go there again.

Great food. Looks great. Tastes great. Service is a bit slow but its worth it. The Nigeri sushi pricey but tastes great

We started going to Hamada when the first owner, Sam had it. He was and Is (we go to his restaurant in Langley}a terrific guy and so is his wife. Sam sold it to one of his employees and he kept it the same good food, good prices and nice staff. It has been sold again now but we still go there as the food it very good and the prices are still great. I would recommend this as excellent value for money and a very good sushi restaurant. I have not tried many in Maple Ridge but the ones I have tried I just keep coming back to Hamada.

We use to go here all the time, but have found another closer to home. Nothing bad to say would recommend!
