Wonderful intimate dinner with my wife. Superb service, very attentive and eager to make.ypur experience the best. Ordered drinks, apps and we had the Ribeye dinner. This was one of the best meals we’ve ever had in the OBX, from server to cuisine. Thank you Shirley for a great experience and to the chef for the wonderful meal! The shrimp and grits app was very good (spicier than normal), the chicken and gnocchi were amazing, the burrata and beet salad was delicious, scallop and squid ink risotto was one of a kind, brussel sprouts were executed perfectly, and their lemon pie with saltine cracker crust was unique and delicious. Fantastic food and service! Our server was Lauren and she was polite, professional and really made it a great experience. I got a chicken dish that came with beans and pickled carrots. Everything was excellent! They seated us at the bar (which we enjoy) in minutes, and were playful and engaging. The decor looks dated in the professional pictures, but is welcoming and lovely once there. Chris made a quite fine 1587 Old Fashion, humoring me in my picky preferences. The mahi and the scallops were especially delicious and skillfully prepared! They don't necessarily understand the irony of a Roanoke Island restaurant celebrating the Lost Colony serving a chicken dish from Gainesville GA (site of Brenau University, which promoted the forged Dare Stones), but it didn't detract a bit from a particularly fine dining experience.
