"Two for one Tuesday ", prices were increased for this regular so called special. Chicken was overcooked & served with a limp salad. The salad may be prepared by the kitchen but the chicken was pre-prepared by an outside organization. Like something you'd buy from a supermarket frozen dept. Decor is still like an army dining hall with some historic photos. Women with heels - watch out for the dangerous hole in the floor near the bar which needs to be repaired. The hotel is looking long in the tooth and perhaps the owners should put some money back into it and the local community with renovations. Our Friday night dinner there which we had to go to was no better.
This is such a piece of history its full of photos from the timber days. The place was quite full of people, service was great ,but the food very basic, really needs improving
Beautiful old wooden pub in the main street of the quaint little village of Malanda, where the pace is slower and the locals are friendly. remember to go for a quick splash in the rainforest waterfall at the edge of town - this high up , there are no crocodiles only platypus
2 very large old adjoining dining rooms. Order from the bar. Steaks flooded in a salty sauce meant to be diane. Meat was overcooked to what we had ordered. Rib fillet too much fat - needed to be trimmed. Plastic pub glassware. There is no restaurant in this town for night dining other than the club, There are two takeaways. Don't go with high expectations and you won't go away hungry.
