Derrick's Bbq - Live Oak

I had a terrible experience. I ordered five meals, and they forgot to include any BBQ sauce in the bag. How can a BBQ joint overlook something as essential as BBQ sauce?

It would have been a five-star review if the hostess who seated us hadn’t had an attitude. When we requested to sit by the window, she responded with a major attitude, saying she would just follow us. On the other hand, our server was wonderful and always had a smile!

Ordered pulled pork special, probably the worst I have ordered in a BBQ restaurant. Tasted like liquid smoke seasoning and was big pieces of fat and gristle. Just really bad.

I have ordered from here a total of 6 times. 5 of which were awesome, we hit a snag on #6. The way they handled our issue led to this 5 STAR REVIEW! Thank you Derrick's staff!! It's always nice seeing your smiling faces!

I dine at this restaurant about every couple of weeks, and the food is usually quite good. There are times when the ribs fall short, not in flavor but in the quality of the meat cut, which can happen at any BBQ joint. However, the sliced meats—beef, pork, and turkey—are typically very tasty and moist. The smoked chicken is also fantastic. I find the loaded potatoes to be very good, although they seem more like a lunch portion to me. The salads are enormous, and you won't be disappointed if you order one (be sure to get it with their ranch dressing!). The Redneck nachos are massive and delicious. On Thursdays, they have a steak special that is both flavorful and well-priced. The service has always been exceptional. As of October 5, 2022, I've added new menu photos, and I noticed that some prices have increased.
