The 406 - Live Oak

My boyfriend and I had one of the best meals we've ever had at this restaurant. The food was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked from appetizers to desserts, earning a 10/10 from us. Everything was homemade, including the caramel sauce on the cheesecake. We will definitely be coming back for more! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful experience! The price per person was between $20-30, which I found to be very reasonable. The food was fantastic, I would rate it a 5 out of 5. The service was also impeccable, I would give it a 5 out of 5 as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, I would also rate it a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the cheesecake and crab cakes, they were delicious!

I had high expectations for this meal as there are few upscale dining options in our small town. Unfortunately, all three of us ordered steak and they were all cooked incorrectly. Two steaks ordered medium came out rare, and one steak ordered medium well also came out rare. The medium well steak was sent back and came back the second time cooked medium. The restaurant itself is charming and the staff were friendly, but the chef needs to improve their steak cooking skills. This seems to be a common complaint in other reviews as well. (Note: picture is of the medium well steak after it was cooked correctly on the second attempt).

The restaurant 406 Duval in Live Oak is a hidden gem. Housed in a charming old building with lovely rooms and outdoor seating, it offers a fantastic menu with delicious food, signature cocktails, and friendly service that truly makes you feel welcome.
