The Garden Plate - Lismore

The courtyard is a quiet oasis in the Lismore CBD and the quality of food and coffee is terrific. Friendly staff and good service. Worth a visit for a coffee or a meal.

We visited this cafe for a small bite for lunch and loved it.This is a vegetarian cafe and I describe the options as meat-less rather than full vegetarian fare. Just simple good food, prepared well that does not have meat. Between the four of us we had mushroom quiche, pumpkin and sundried tomato aranchini, pumpkin and fetta quiche with sweet potato garden salad.I had a blueberry thickshake along with my meal which was divine. My fetta quiche was light and fluffy and salad fresh and tasty.Loved the outdoor courtyard at the back. Very tranquil.Would definitely visit again if I was in the area again.

What a fantastic little gem in the middle of Lismore. I had a fantastic lunch of pumpkin risotto balls with fresh salads for very good price. While the day to day lunch menu is decidedly uninspired I don't think it's a problem with the large variety of specials that seem to be the norm. The service was friendly and fast. Really good choice and will have to try the breakfast which looks really impressive also.

I eat here regularly and the food is not simply wholesome and healthy it is also beautiful and tasty. They serve excellent fair trade coffee for those who want it but also exciting drinks like their very own "Golden Latte" which has almond milk, ginger and turmeric, this is my favourite. They really cater well for coeliac people by having just about everything gluten free, something I really appreciate. There is also a great little outside courtyard garden that has an amazing painting covering it's entire main wall. The whole place is full of light and reflective of the owners' wonderful energy, she so obviously revels in creating, cooking and sharing wholesome food. The staff even when run off their feet are always happy, warm and welcoming. Daisy, the barista, makes the excellent coffee and her coffee comes highly recommended by my coffee loving, admitted coffee snob husband. The background music is perfect, unlike some places, always just right, never too loud or overpowering and you can sometimes even catch the staff singing along ( that's if you go when the crowds are thinning and they are packing up) so having a late afternoon snack can bring surprising rewards. Happy staff, happy customers, wonderful food, an all round great place to meet with friends and eat healthy food.

Have visited The Garden Plate in Lismore a couple of times now, and they always have good vegetarian and vegan food at a reasonable price. Just wish this cafe was open on a Sunday as well. Recommended!
