O'hara's Public House - Lexington

I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time, and I found it to be a lovely spot for a delicious meal at reasonable prices. I ordered the Fish and Chips, which were very flavorful. The service was excellent—pleasant and attentive staff made the experience even better. The atmosphere was charming, enhanced by the Irish decor throughout the place. I highly recommend checking it out! Food rating: 5/5.

This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we arrived on a Friday evening around 6:30. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but there was plenty of bench seating outside to make the wait comfortable. Our server, Caroline, was young, energetic, and very attentive. I ordered a Miller Lite draft and some ice water. For my meal, I chose the bangers and mash. The sausage was cooked perfectly—not burnt—and it came with a traditional brown gravy that was not too salty. The mashed potatoes were hearty, and I added a bit of butter for extra flavor. I would highly recommend this dish! My companion ordered the fish and chips with thick-cut fries. The fish was cooked just right and not overly crispy, and the housemade tartar sauce was a nice touch. It didn't contain relish and had a subtle hint of lemon without being overpowering. Overall, it was a great choice!

Great spot! We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. My husband had a Guinness, and although I forgot to take a picture, he said it was perfectly poured. I ordered the shepherd's pie, and he had the Guinness stew. Both dishes were fantastic. No complaints at all—we'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Food: 5/5.

Omg the Shepherd's pie was absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned. Our waitress Laila (forgive the spelling if incorrect) was a doll!! They have great beer. I got a white mocha beer and it was so tasty. They also let you sample before choosing so definitely do that if you're unsure of what you want. They have cloth napkins so obviously it's a super fancy place. I'll definitely be returning.

Second time visit after not having been in over two years. Not much has changed same unattractive interior, same uninterested staff, etc. Both my wife and I had fish and chips. More than an ample serving. Fish was tasty but batter had a greasy taste. Fries were a smallish portion and were warm and not crispy hot. Prices, as usual, were not in line with value received.
