We should have left. The first impression was not good. Plants were standing on the window benches a long time ago. Dried remains were still on the window. Even the rest of the place didn't look really clean. We should have been suspicious when the host took the drinks in a shed in the garden. But we had read a recommendation on the net we were still familiar with. The beer was delivered directly as half a liter. Maybe the gastronomy knew we didn't want to stay here long and quickly make sales. The food was just bad. Both the steak pan and the gyro with Metaxas sauce were served in a pan and looked completely the same. Everything floats in a heavy, undefined soup. We didn't complain because we didn't have the possibility of refurbishment. We will avoid this restaurant in the future.
Looking for a restaurant we went through Lahnstein and landed in the Parthenon. It was not really good and not really bad....only very average. Operation It served two men. A younger (owner? and an older one. The younger service was fleeting and attentive, but more or less alone responsible for about 40 guests. The older operation brought the order, but did not react to Winken/Handzeichen, for example to order drinks. Everything, but good and very happy. The food We have eaten as an appetizer Tsatziki, as a main dish roasted liver (I and filled Chop Steak (my husband). Tsatziki was brought with a herbal salad, freshly tasted and not garlic. Both main dishes were brought with rice, pommes and some Tsatziki (to 90% of all main dishes). The liver was well fried, but unfortunately translucent with tendons. The chop steak was well seasoned and fried. Pommes, rice very dry. Overall, the food was OK, but nothing special, there are deductions due to the tendons in the liver. There are only Greek wines. The ambience We sat outside on the terrace. There is a colorful seating of different age groups with older pillows. Especially the seats and cushions on the promenade in front of the main terrace were disgusting, but then we were still brewed (no real alternatives in Lahnstein on the terrace. In the first row of the terrace there are new chairs (polyrattan, but these without pillows. Tablecloths are all made of plastic, also in different colors. For example uniform pillows and tablecloths (possibly tablecloths on plastic tablecloths? the ambience would be much better. They sit with a view of the Lahn and a part of the Rhine. A person drives every 5 to 10 minutes. or freight train on the railway bridge....so this is in Lahnstein. Cleanliness There is not really something to mumulate. However, the seat cushions were already in the years, there were thousands of seats.
Hansguckindie The air finds it, normal people pass the Hotel Weißes Ross, the sign with the name of the restaurant floats high above. Opposite there are a few parking spaces (parking disc 2 hours when the court gate is open, you can probably also park inside (without warranty). Access to the place is managed after 3 steps, if you just walk through, you will land on the huge terrace, there you will be barrier-free (so you will also be advertised when the gate is open. In this way you feel a little like in Greece, through the underground, partly unoccupied walls, open garages, ... . A large terrain with sunny and shaded places, partly with roof and side protection, is not given the view of the Lahn from all places. Some more steps below then there are some tables right above the Lahn level next to the cycle path. Since communication with the service should work from there, my knowledge is withdrawn. As the only guest I choose the best view in the sun and even look at Burg Stahleck at the height. Simple garden tables and chairs provide space for 150 guests supplied by a garden pavillion. Upholstery make the stay relatively comfortable. Service: A young female service without uniform brings the typical large Greek map without special features. The price level is not excessive and without visibility. When the card is closed, it is back and picks up the order. The beer brings it fast, little later the side salad. Your part is satisfactory. A young man is then responsible for the bill, also correspondingly fast and friendly. Food and drink: There are only Greek wines for around 4 €. The yeast wheat from the bottle is a Paulaner in bright for 3,20 €. I fluctuate between lamb and gyro baked with metaxas sauce (11.50 € , the latter is my order. The additional salad comes in, consists almost completely of herbal salad, doubled only by an olive and a peperoni. I still smelled about the origin, the taste is standard. Some time later, an iron pan is served on a plate. Pangyros baked with lots of cheese, and the dish can not interfere with immaculate meat quality, too many tendons and fat parts. Röstaromen absent and the sauce does not appear homogeneous, although tastefully ok. The rice is available on a plate extra, but is very dry despite tomato base. 2.5 stars, rated on the 2nd Conclusion: A Greek standard card without bright lights, not a culinary point for me. As a stop on the bike tour conceivable or on lukewarm summer evenings for the group to celebrate as in Greece, without overpriced prices.
