The Open Door - Killala

Brian and I recently took our American cousins to The Open Door, and they absolutely loved it. We all enjoyed a delicious meal, with top-notch steaks and seafood. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and the desserts were superb. The Open Door is a wonderful addition to Killala, using local ingredients in their dishes. We also enjoyed some great after-dinner drinks at Gilvarry's pub across the road. I highly recommend dining at The Open Door.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to have a meal. The chef/owner is very welcoming and skilled in the kitchen. She describes each dish in a cheerful manner, and the presentation is simple but elegant, allowing the delicious food to speak for itself. My only disappointment is that this restaurant is far from my home, so I can only dine here when I visit The Old Deanery Holiday Cottages - another excellent establishment. I will definitely be returning soon.

My family and friends had dinner here after a christening and we all enjoyed the delicious food. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly. It's wonderful to have such high-quality food and friendly service right in our neighborhood. Thank you to Tanya and the rest of the team.

Just back from The Open Door Restaurant. Myself the family including our 3yr old girl. We were made so welcome as soon as we walked in. Tanya was so nice made lots of time to chat with us... The food was amazing, from the steak to the chicken to the fish. And then the dessert. Can not fault this gorgeous little restaurant one little bit. Thank you Tanya.
