Maple Street Biscuit Company Homewood

This restaurant is fantastic! When you order, you share your favorite cartoon character, and they call you by that name when your food is ready. How amazing is that? Plus, the orange juice is delicious! I highly recommend trying it.

The food was delicious, but the service left much to be desired. We placed our order, and the cashier accurately repeated it back to us, yet somehow she mixed it up by changing our drinks and my name. After waiting a long time to be called, I went to check on our order. They claimed to have called my name, but it was actually the other name they announced. Additionally, the drinks didn’t match our order. Eventually, the manager had to step in to resolve the situation, as the other staff members seemed confused and unresponsive. He managed to fix the issue.

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely, but the service we received was disappointing. My friend and I felt ignored, as if we were invisible. I noticed the staff were friendly and engaging with other guests, but we didn’t get the same treatment, which was disappointing since we are new to the area. My suggestion is to improve your hospitality and not come off as dismissive towards newcomers.

Disappointing.. My husband and I had really looked forward to trying Maple Street Biscuit Company but will not be back. I ordered the five and dime biscuit, and my husband ordered the retro plate. After waiting over half an hour for something we thought would only take 15 minutes, my husband went to check on our order, only to be told the health inspector had shown up . Not sure why that would delay our food. I can understand why the health inspector was there. The restaurant was filthy. Tables were dirty, the drink machine looked like it hadn 't been cleaned in months, the salt and pepper shakers were coated in, I guess syrup, and caked up, the floors and counters were dirty. When we finally received our food the biscuits were cold and hard, the bacon was greasy, the jelly was extremely runny and everything was cold. I am posting a photo of my biscuit, while the presentation is nice, it did not taste good for the reasons I listed above. Just very disappointing, and definitely will not be back.

Every time I have been there, it was BUSY, very popular spot! Food, I love. No complaints at all. And I like their coffee! The little maple bottles are precious, but most of all, the maple syrup is incredible!
