Caledonian - Fife

We decided to stop by for a quick bite while out for a walk. We headed to the back of the restaurant as there was no one at the bar or in the main area. We passed a waitress who ignored us, even though we smiled and said hello. When we sat down at a table, the same waitress scolded us for not waiting to be seated and moved us to a different table, claiming the one we were at was reserved (even though the restaurant was empty). She reprimanded me for picking up a menu that was freely available and said she would come back to explain the menu. When we went to the bar to order, we were told to wait 10 minutes while the staff transitioned from breakfast to lunch service. The same waitress who had ignored us welcomed another couple, gave them a detailed explanation of the menu, and walked past us twice without acknowledging us. After 20 minutes of being ignored, we decided to leave. The behavior of the front-of-house staff was disgraceful and immature. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to visit with very friendly staff. The atmosphere is nice, clean, and tidy. They always make you feel welcome and are well-mannered.

I had a wonderful festive lunch at The Caledonian today. We pre-ordered our meals, which made for quick service. Despite being short-staffed like many other hospitality places this year, the servers were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent - everyone in our group enjoyed their dish, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Kudos to The Caledonian team - we will definitely be returning.

A great place to stay. Massive comfortable beds. Best breakfast selection on our tour around Scotland. Very friendly and helpful team. Thanks

Was out for a meal with friends. Service was really slow despite having staff wondering about and the place being empty. Had long waits in between courses and had to remind them that we would like deserts. Food was average. Found a large hair in our ice cream. Main courses were good however.
