Happy hour wine specials were very cheap, but tasted cheap too. They were also out of the one dessert we wanted, but the desserts did look good. Overall, we thought it was good. But they can’t seem to decide if they are a tapas place or not. Food is too expensive for small plates, but not large enough for an entree. If this were the only place in town, we’d probably be regulars, but there are many much better (and better priced) places in Evanston, so we likely won’t be back.
Tables to close together for party of 2. They seem to have a desire to get parties in and out in a dedicated amount of time, you don't feel relaxed or welcomed.
I’ve been to the Cellar before. The menu has changed- less small plates, prices higher. My salmon was fine, but nothing special. Same for the burger. Disappointing experience.
Pretty much a delicious dinner. We ate green beans, tacos, Greek salad, swordfish, salmon and they were all yummy. Salad low on feta this time; Green beens usually scrumptious but last Friday they were bland and not cooked in the usual crisp tender slightly browned way. Took a while for anyone to take our drink order upon arrival. Hostess staff and wait staff very cordial and friendly.
Wonderful service and food!! Also love the atmosphere!! Thank you!!
