Had family come into town and made a brunch reservation, showed up and they were closed...had been for a while apparently. There was a sign on the door from the city saying they were shut down and locks changed. Open Table needs to stop allowing reservations to be made.
I made reservations to eat with friends at Enrique Tomas and when we showed up there was a piece of paper on the door. Apparently it looks like the company who owns the restaurant didn't pay their rent or I don't know, because the restaurant was CLOSED!!! It looks like permanently. I was not made aware of this through Open Table (they probably don't even know) so I figured I would come here and let people know not to bother making a reservation. Again, it looks like they are permanently closed!
My wife and I visited this restaurant with another couple on a Saturday night. The place was pretty much empty, maybe 6 other diners, and it 's a good sized restaurant. Many of the items on the menu were unavailable, listed as 'Out of stock '. The wine selection is very poor, just a handful of bottles, for a Spanish style restaurant, so we had a few Spanish beers instead and they ran out of the one we were drinking after we had 6, so we had to switch to another beer. The starters, entrees, desserts were good as was the service. When I picked up the check at the end, I was surprised at the cost, $600 with tip. Given the portion sizes and lack of availability of many menu items, I don 't feel this was a good value. I think this restaurant has great potential, but I would be surprised if it survives the year given the cost to value received.
A true culinary experience thanks to our waiter, Devon. On happy hour, they serve excellent craft cocktails in Riedel cocktail glasses for $7-$8. We had the seafood paella and it was really rich with a side of jamon. My caipirinha was excellent as was my smoked rosemary old-fashioned. We finished off with a creamy cardamom dessert and espresso martini.
