Lizard's Thicket - Columbia

Breakfast served early which is a rare find in columbia. The breakfast had great portions for a great price and was really good. I will definately go back.

Average, but good for the area. Had been curious about this place ever since I saw the sign. What a name for a restaurant. Anyhow, stopped by for lunch and ordered at the drive-thru. Had Fried Chicken, Spinach, Cabbage and Black Eyed Peas. Fried Chicken breast was juicy and had a wonderful flavor to the skin. Spinach was sort of bland. Cabbage and Black Eyed peas were well seasoned. Tea wasn't quite as sweet as I like (surprising for SC). As another reviewer stated, everything is probably right from a can, but this is one of the only places close by that is not a fast food chain. So if you are ok with cafeteria style food, and aren't too picky, it's worth stopping in for lunch.

The shield says Real Country Cooking. It's true. I was looking for local food as I am unemployed, and I prefer local and unique restaurants to chains. There was a notification for special fried chicken livers tonight. This place has met all my needs. The tables are set for good distancing. The atmosphere was like home. The waitress was immediately with my drink request and was very friendly. I chose the livers, roasted Okra, black eyebrows and asked for the potato salad. Several bullets sighed as if I had mentioned Mama's Special Court. It was perfect. Cornbread, too. The food arrived fast and was great. My only little boy was that the Okra had overcooked pieces. But don't complain. The sweet tea was also JUST right. I can't believe I ate everything. I will definitely make a visit next time. A certain *land chain could learn something or 2 about the way Lizard's Thicket makes land food. I was very happy. And full.

The LT is my lucky place. Service is always good, food is always great, and it is the perfect place to gather with old friends to catch or just finish a trip in a high note. It doesn't matter what you order... I never had a bad meal here.
