Stopped in Colac for the night, nice town nothing special until the manager at our motor lodge suggested a Persian restaurant. Out the back and down 2-3 blocks. What a surprise to find “babil”. Met Serdar, the owner and talked Turkish country and food and looked at the menu and WOW. To many good things on the menu and had a late lunch but no way I was walking away. Octopus is a favorite and there it was along with so many dips and breads and just goodness to taste. We had zucchini carrot fritters with dipping yogurt and dips, Beetroot, Babagnosh and Capsicum along with house made bread.. heaven and then, octopus with a spicy rocket, and just great. We’re from California and didn’t expect this level of food here but here it was. Outstanding, come get it. I’m coming back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Fantastic repurposing of the building it 's a pleasure just sitting inside. Outside seating available too. The range of food was really good not your usual 'Sydney Rd ' style of Turkish Restaurant. Different but authentic dishes made this a must visit when in the area. Worth a detour when near Colac. Great service and a good choice of wines, including some excellent local ones. We 'll definitely be back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
