The Mill Restaurant & Pub - Cobourg

Arrived a Friday night without a reservation. Were seated promptly. Staff were warm and inviting. Meal was nothing out of the ordinary. PrimeRib was disappointing as it lacked flavour. Presentation was done well. French Onion soup was very good. My husband very much enjoyed his gnocchi.

Upon arrival for lunch we were asked if we had a reservation, we did not. We were told that we, therefore, could not be seated in the completely empty restaurant. It was explained that "we like to track our customers, and without a reservation could not be accommodated." We were instead directed to the basement, a dark, dingy space. We stayed and had fish/chips, disappointing frozen fish. When we left about an hour later the restaurant was still completely empty. A couple who arrived behind us had an identical experience. We will not be back, childish pretension by the person who greeted us upon arrival.

Group of six shared casual dinner on the patio - nice atmosphere, clean, great breezes, and bonus - live band playing!Food is simple and wholesome ... as commented previously, portions are "just" adequate; service was great. Nice way to end a work "year" ... enjoyed by all!Thank you.

Went for lunch.....have been a number of times, but serving size (side of fries) was a bit skimpy......Service is generally excellent, although today the new person (young man) was very loud while we were eating, and some colourful language we'd prefer to not hear. Food is generally excellent.....important to keep with the high standards though!

On June 2, 2017 we rented the upstairs Gallery for our Wedding Reception and we could not have made a better choice. The quaint setting, the service and the food was all top notch. There is not one thing we can think of that we could begin to criticize and we are two perfectionists, so it is saying something that they not only met, but exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing and the portions were very generous. They served Prime Rib and Chicken Florentine and all our guests were very impressed. The prime rib was done perfectly, and I heard a few say it was better than the Keg. So many of our guests commented not only about the great food, but the great service as well and some out of town guests even mentioned that they would definitely make the trip back for dinner. Fran was patient with us through the entire planning process and always prompt to respond to my emails and questions. We couldn't be happier about choosing The Mill Restaurant and Pub for our Wedding Day and highly recommend it to others. We plan to stop in soon to personally to express our gratitude for a job well done by the entire staff!! We can't thank them enough for playing such a huge part in making our day extra special.
