Flunch - Châteaubernard

Flunch adjacent to Auchan in Cognac, could be so much better. The food, including the poorly presented desserts was rather tired, lukewarm and none too appetising There was misleading information on the internal advertising screens about the inclusive menu and this was not helped by the rather indifferent attitude of the cashier. Table cleanliness was the saving grace but the emptiness of the restaurant spoke volumes. . The overall experience was not good especially for a restaurant associated with a major store. Flunch needs to offer some customer skills to the cashiers in particular.

I can see this would be popular choice for all ages but specifically for those with younger families. For those not used to the concept of how to order here it can be a bit formidable as to what to do for those whose French is not too great but we just watched to see others. Essentially they are menus which can allow different choices of starter and main or main and dessert with different price bands. Other than the fixed price menus are available so this place provides lots of choice. For main course you go to the designated cooking area and hand over your ticket. The food is prepared for you and you can help yourself to vegetables, rice etc. I had hake which was tasty but could have been hotter but my son enjoyed his steak. The chef was really helpful and used google translate to work out how the steak was to be cooked which we thought inventive! My husband's burger and rosti was good too. Desserts were tasty and the chocolate mousse was a favourite.

Nous sommes venus chez FLUNCH un après-midi pour y manger une crêpe au Nutella. (2.60 euros). Mon fils l'a trouvée très bonne. Le service a été rapide.Mais je fus surprise du manque d'hygiène : couverts avec des traces, moquette au sol avec plein de miettes, endroit pour entreposer ses assiettes et plateaux dégoûtant (et pas débarrassé).-Déco, peinture, meubles très très "vieillots"...- Du bazar au sein de la salle de restauration aussi bien aux caisses que dans la salle (carton contenant des ballons en attente de gonflage posé sur une table..)J'hésiterais vraiment à y déjeuner...

Cafétéria très mauvaise, la nourriture est pas bonne. Il faut pleurer pour avoir des frites. Il n'y a rien de bon, même pas les desserts

Mon rituel du mercredi apres midi...une bonne crepe, un café, ou pour diner....le personnel est toujours souriant, accueillant...on s'y sent bien :)
