Le Gabriel Restaurant & Lounge

The food was pretty average. The service was horrible. We waited over thirty minutes after finishing our food without being offered dessert. When I stopped another server to ask for the dessert offerings, she said as soon as he is done serving other tables. After another ten minutes, still without dessert or check, I went to the desk and paid our bill and left. Not a good experience at all.

This restaurant is the most recommended restaurant in Cheticamp. I found the service to be adequate - but in his defence, he seemed NEW to serving, and he really tried to please. He just didn't seem to know a lot about the foods, options, beverages, etc. As this is a Summer Season restaurant for the most part, I assume he has only been there a short time. The food, was adequate. It was decent in flavour, and presentation, but nothing terribly exciting. I had shrimp kebabs, and they seemed to take a long time to cook as my party all got their food and were almost done before I received my food. In fact, when the waiter came by to clean plates, he assumed I was done and offered to take my plate, but I was not - I just got my order so late. This is one of the few (if not only) restaurants open in December, but the part that is open in December is the bar at the back, not the full dining lounge.

We were recommended to visit Le Gabriel for lobster. It wasn't cheap-out of season but worth it for an authentic Maritime experience. The extras (bun, potatoes, veggies) were meh'...staff was very friendly. Music was fun. Not gourmet but served its purpose.

Was told this was best place to eat in Cheticamp. Menu selection as fine, meal was fine, but the place had a loud band in the next room/bar lounge that completely disturbed what would have been an enjoyable dining experience; expected better.

Super owner and great food. Pasta with bacon and tomato was amazing ????. Staff all friendly and helpful. Great for family's.
