The other night we dined there for a birthday celebration, and I was extremely disappointed in the service! I am NOT blaming the waitress, I am blaming the management! This poor young woman had not been trained! She seemed very nervous, we had to keep repeating ourselves as she seemed as though she could not hear us. We had to ask her to remove empty plates and glasses from the table. I asked a manager (that was standing at the end of the bar near our table) to get me a glass of wine as she was constantly disappearing. He didn’t seem concerned about that at all! Red flags should have been flying but he was clueless! Two days before the reservation, my husband ordered a specialty white cake they serve for birthdays, etc., it was as though it had been stored in a freezer too long! It was dry and the icing just fell off of it. I have worked and dined in many fine restaurants TRAIN YOUR STAFF and you might have a chance of becoming one!
Went with friends on a weeknight. It was busy but not bad. The staff are friendly. We started with drinks and appetizers in the lounge and moved to the deck for dinner. We ordered various things. The tartare was decent. The meat could be chopped a little more. The topping didn't add to the flavor. The potato portion was nicer alone. I really liked the goat cheese spread. I ordered the pork chop. It had decent flavor but was overcooked. My friend ordered the fish which was very nicely prepared. I liked the candied bacon. The tuna had a really nice flavor but was also overcooked. I may return.
Dinner was excellent with many good fish entrees. Only question is why are steaks market price in the USA? They are not hard to get.
The waitress was nice. Husband ordered drink called painkiller decided it did indeed taste like medicine, he said NyQuill. I had a margarita, it was ok, nothing to order a 2nd one. He ordered the special, fish tacos. They were good but definitely not $27 good for 3. I got Alfredo with chicken added. I specifically asked the waitress if the chicken was grilled. She “thought” it was. I was quite disappointed in the Alfredo. It was obvious no butter, no garlic, Basically no flavor. And the chicken had to be out of a bag. Each piece perfectly sized as the next, no seasonings not grilled. It was definitely not an $85 dinner. As we left, my husband looked across the street said next time we’ll just go to “The Other Place” get pizza. I totally agreed.
Below Average. We ordered the Chilean sea bass. I love this so was excited to try it here. It was not good. It was so chewy I had to cut it with a steak knife. Then I would chew and chew. Usually means it is over cooked. It also had a drizzle that tasted like candy apple. It was a terrible candy like flavor. . My daughter got the New York strip at market price and it was 1/2 inch thick. I had a bite of her steak and it had a lot of gristle throughout. So sad as we were visiting from out of town and wanted a nice, different place to eat out. Dinner was over $100 and neither of us ate our meal.
