This restaurant offers a beautiful display of history, particularly focusing on Carolina and Cure Beach's history from the 1940s and 1950s.
This complimentary museum offers a journey through the country's history, starting from the first lighthouse to the aftermath of the civil war. It features an outstanding map with lights indicating the movements of different groups. While it may not be something visitors typically consider during their beach vacation, it provides a pleasant reprieve from the sun and a chance to learn something new.
This free museum walks you through the history of the Federal Point area, from first lighthouse to post Civil War use, and has an excellent terrain map with lights showing the movement of different troops. It's not something you would think about as part of your beach vacation, but it's a nice break from the sun and you just might learn something.
A great little place to get a slice of the local area history including wartime, during the creation of Snow's Cut, and more recent developments. Not a big place, you'd be pressed to spend a whole hour here, but it's a nice stop that I recommend. They also have presentations every month that delve deeper on a specific topic.
