Kate's Pancake House - Carolina Beach

We had a fantastic breakfast this morning. The staff was very polite, and our waiter was exceptionally attentive and friendly.

I visited the restaurant during the hours between breakfast and lunch and chose to order a crab sandwich. At first, I was a bit worried since it arrived without any sauce or toppings. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a chance. To my delight, I disassembled the sandwich and combined it with my side salad drizzled with ranch dressing, creating a wonderful lunch. I also appreciated the ambiance; a charming couple sitting next to me was coloring, which enhanced the overall experience.

This might just be the quickest review I've ever written, and for good reason—wow! I had the pumpkin French toast, and it was absolutely amazing! The bread is homemade and some of the best I've ever tasted! Everyone at our table of five was also thrilled with their meals, and every single plate was cleared! We arrived around 10:30 on a Saturday, so we had to wait a bit, but it was definitely worth it. The food came out quickly, it was reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. The inside was much cleaner than I expected based on the exterior of the building; though it’s quite small, they do a fantastic job of turning tables and keeping things tidy! I can't wait to go back!

The food was merely satisfactory. The only warm item on my plate was the eggs; the sausage and fries were at room temperature, if not cold. The waffle was comparable to what you’d find at a complimentary hotel breakfast. The chicken was of average quality but acceptable. Additionally, the cups could use more attention, as ours were somewhat dirty. On a positive note, the staff was excellent, and service was incredibly fast. Another advantage is that they offer free parking!

We’re thrilled to have discovered this lovely spot. The pumpkin pancakes, in particular, were excellent, and our server was incredibly friendly and efficient. Additionally, with parking in the area being quite expensive, having their own parking lot is a definite bonus.
