Redwood Cafe - Cambria

I really should have paid attention to the reviews! My overhard eggs were far from overhard. The country potatoes were hard and lacked any flavor. I had to send my bacon back because it wasn’t crispy enough, and when it returned, it was still floppy but chewy. I’m tempted to say they microwaved it. As I sat there trying to eat what I could, I thought to myself, "Yeah, I won’t be coming back."

My hubby is a biscuits and gravy snob and he said these are the best he’s ever had in his life! Sammy, Suhe and Yolanda welcomed us with excellent service. They had a clean water bowl waiting for my Coco. I don’t know if people with bad reviews were having a bad day, but we loved everything. This is our 2nd time here when we visit San Simeon. I loved my blueberry pancakes. Coco loved the ham we got her. My husband had an omelette with sausage and he loved everything. There’s a cute antique shop in the center as well. No lattes/expressos, which seems to be common in Cambria/Cayucos. But they do have mimosas and some alcohol if that’s your thing.

One of the best places to go for breakfast or lunch. The food is excellent. We ate there nearly every day of our trip.

We've visited Cambria for 30 years and never tried the Redwood Cafe until last week. What a hidden gem. You will not go away hungry. Good classic comfort food with generous portions. Service was top notch and pieces reasonable by today's standards.

Love this cafe! Great service, super nice staff, tasty food, affordable... and dog friendly with tables outside!
