Cates Italian Garden - BOLTON LANDING

I've been going to Cate for 20 years. Always been thrilled for my annual LG/BL trip and to visit Cate 's for the pizza and some other menu lovers. But this year was very disappointed. Seems like the pizza recipe has been changed, no thinner crust as it was as long as I can remember. It didn't taste the same, all dough, hardly any sauce or cheese. We ordered two toppings, one on each half, and we 're calculating the full price for both toppings as if on the whole pizza. Never so charged. We ordered the pizza, with a few salads, to go, to take. No table, no service, go in to pick up. A 15% satisfaction was automatically calculated for a pizza and a few basic page salads. When asked why that was, it could be a mistake, the answer was "that 's Bolton'... I've come to BL for 21 years, never experienced it at Cate's or elsewhere. I don't know if it's new or trying to recover from the pandemic, but I won't be back. Would rather save my pennies and eat at a fancier place like Beyond the Sea.

Delicious food. Amazing staff. Great atmosphere. I live nearby. Whenever we have visitors, we'll take them to Cate?s. It is always such a beautiful experience. Also they have the best pizza ever!!! We long it all winter while it is closed again?

Positive the rudest bartender I have ever met. My family has been feeding Cate for many years. Although not my favorite, others in my party enjoy it. Although the hostess and waitress were excellent, the bartender was discouraged, curt and unnecessarily rude when I made a simple investigation after I was directed at it. Her behavior was unprofessional and her attitude cleaned all night. If you drop $400 on a meal, you would expect a more respectful treatment from the staff. Excuse me, Cate, but I won't visit you again!

Host on the front, not the younger women were very nice) was short and not friendly at all. He said the waiting could be awhile without being specific and said it would be longer for the interior seat. I said, okay, because we had eaten in Cates years ago and it was good. We don't sit down sooner to wait, and she calls her to sit inside. Not complaining, but if she felt like she almost wanted us not to dinate there by discouraging us by saying that it was as long as there was none. Never SMILED. We go in to sit and there was a terrible smell like spoiled fish. We decided not to eat and went over the street to Huddle and had a nice meal. Not sure what's going on with Cates. It used to be a great place. I hope it was just a bad day. Please get friendly people to work there. The young women were very friendly and smiled. Promote them.

Okay so completely straight forward, this business lacks customer service?. Food was great, but the service was terrible.. Call on the phone asking about dessert.. They say to show up and get a table due to no reservations over the phone. Once arrived, there was 9 tables ahead of us. Already terrible communication between staff members.. If there was a wait this long, say it over the phone? Do not make the people simply wanting dessert waiting 1+ hours, or settle for takeout? Now takeout, takeout was fast, but that?s because they hit you with a 15% charge you don?t even knows coming? The 15% is ridiculous, or maybe it?s just me ?????. Takeout comes with Your food, a Chinese plastic takeout bag, and 0 utensils. To be in such a small town; as such a large restaurant, I expected better.. Tip for lady at the hostess stand out front It?s not hard to think positive and throw on a smile ??
