Restaurant Eiger - Bern

Our hotel was a bit far from the town center, so we were looking for a place to eat close by. Eiger had great food, great service and some character. I liked how they had an inexpensive "mystery entree"option (to reduce the amount of food waste.) We didn't order that, but the food was delicious nonetheless.

Good food and friendly waiters. Very funny names on the menus. Definitely a place to try once. Anyway didn't like they took position on talking bad about a particular nutrition company who's for sure a company doing mistakes but also a company doing great things such as saving life of people. Great atmosphere, with a lot of locals and characters at the restaurant.If you want to relax, have a good conversation and enjoy some pretty good food, away from the tourist stuff in Berne, that is the place to go.We were a group of 10 pax to we each chooses a different main course, so we could cross sample, (yeah stupid idea i thought.) The food came out fast, and every single plate was real good solid proper food.The wait Staff was just amazing and very courteous and attentive.Next time i`m in Berne i will have there dinner again, luv it.

By far the best steak tartare near and far; chopped by the chef, not ground by the butcher. Restaurants in Bern typically have tiny tables crammed into a tiny space, but not this one. Plenty of elbow room to go around and you don't have to take part in your neighbors' conversations. Service is really friendly and relaxed, but they still treat you as a customer, not their buddy. Competent would be the right word here. The interior looks like the traditional Bernese style, just without the stuffy feeling you get elsewhere. It's just outside of the tourist infested old town (still very close, like everything in Bern) which is a big plus for me.

The nice French bistro furniture gives it a friendly, cozy atmosphere. Food was very good, fresh and colorful. Service was nice. The open wines (we tried two different kinds) were average. All in all it was a quite pleasant experience.
