Hostaria - Basel

A small restaurant, a bit off the main roads, with a wonderfully welcoming owner (multilingual including English and Italian). The linguine in vodka sauce were simply outstanding!

We selected this restaurant because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed. We had a reservation so were seated promptly. They had a limited, assume daily, menu and brought two wines from which we could select. We started with the pumpkin soup which was not super tasty. Had a flammkuchen and boar-filled pasta. The pasta was good but the flammkuchen was disappointing. The service was good. We would like to have been able to give a better rating, but based on the food we had for the cost, we couldn't.

Great Small but nice menu, almost everything is homemade and fresh Price/performance is definitely right here
