Contribuiți la feedbackAbsolutely fantastic experience. We have some dietary restrictions but we let them know a couple of days on advance when we made our booking. We had the 4 course tasting menu. It did not disappoint. The food was exquisite. Local ingredients and you can tell so much care and attention to detail went into every dish. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where you can chat peacefully between courses and really savour the food. In addition the service is incredible. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about every aspect of the food and so helpful and great to chat to. Highlight of our trip to west cork. Although we were satisfied after our meal, we enjoyed it so much I wish we had done the longer 7 course option. Special shout out to the freshly made soda bread and butter.
Went here for a delicious tasting menu made from local ingredients. You can taste the love for food and the region with every dish. The waiters were very attentive and created a lovely atmosphere. This restaurant was one of our highlights in town.
Rob and Elaine are excellent hosts. The food is delicious and the wine pairing is lovely.
Absolutely delicious food set in a stunningly beautiful restaurant! Outward appearances are somewhat initially deceiving as the restaurant has still preserved the traditional West Cork townhouse style which one would typically expect in rural Ballydehob. The moment you step inside however you are instantly catapulted into a truly top class culinary delight. Elaine warmly greeted us at the door and showed us to our table upstairs which was minimal in presentation, so elegantly set. David, our main waiter, was top class, courteous and helpful at all times, and extremely knowledgable on all dishes and wines. From the crackling pork belly, melt in the mouth turf smoked butter with warmly cut homemade bread, delicately shaven slices of duck to the decadently smooth chocolate mini dessert…the food was just abundant with flavour. These are just a sample of the dishes we ordered. If you are looking for a stand out dining experience when next in West Cork do not hesitate to book this rare gem, you will most certainly not be disappointed!
My partner and I had been eager to try out this restaurant for a while, and we finally managed to secure a reservation. And we were not let down. We decided to go for the tasting menu along with a wine flight. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients, and the dishes were expertly prepared by the outstanding staff. It was truly one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in recent times. The only drawback was that the restaurant does not have a liquor license, but this did not dampen our enjoyment. We suggest either booking a taxi or appointing a designated driver if you are not local. While they do offer a non-alcoholic drink pairing option, we did not opt for it as we had already arranged for transportation. The little detour to savor the culinary experience was definitely worth it, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.
