Unfortunately, Cesar's is no more the restaurant has changed hands and has been re named to Salt and Pepper.
We were staying at the Pine Cliffs Hotel and decided to walk over one evening for dinner. We had tapas and the food was very good. But what was a pleasure was the service very friendly, welcoming and we were even advised that we had ordered a bit too much for the two of us (we were a bit unsure about the portions and obviously had ordered way too much! This was a pleasant surprise since our experience is that we have to ask about the size of portions before being told that they might be large. Unfortunately the restaurant was closing down for vacation the day after we had been there, otherwise we would definitely have gone back there again for a meal
We had lunch yesterday at Cesar's (a group of 5 adults and 2 children). Excellent service, great presentation and lovely surrounding. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all, steaks, cataplana and prawn curry were all delicious. The food was all piping hot, large portion sizes and presented beautifully. We will all definitely return.
We first visited Cesar's in March when newly opened. We have just returned from a short break to the area and ate there twice more out of five nights. On our latest trip, first meal, we tried two fish options. Couvert (still different and equally moreish) to start, then hubby had sea bream which was huge, fresh and tasty with baby potatoes and a variety of veggies. I had bacalhau a lagareiro. I admit to struggling when it comes to eating fish with bones, but the taste of this dish was so good that it was worth the effort. The meal was appealing to the eye and so succulent. Codfish bathed in olive oil with peppers garlic onions oven potatoes and veg. I would happily eat it again. On our second visit which was a celebratory meal we had couvert, then tapas calamaris, garlic prawns and pork pica pau. Suffice it to say, nothing went back. Several G Ts, coffee and an Irish liqueur and the bill was under 60 euros. The live singer was on at this visit which made for a lovely evening all round and the service on each occasion was attentive but not intrusive. This restaurant serves traditional Portuguese ingredients which are turned into something special. I would love to spend some time with the chef so that I could recreate some of his/her dishes at home.
